Every other person you see, notice them closely. You will observe that they are living life mindlessly, taking decisions blindly because others are taking the same decisions, they have no goals, no aspirations, no ambitions and they are not living the life of their dreams but their life is being used for someone else’s dream.

But you are different because you are a business owner or want to be one. The number one lesson that any business owner must learn as soon as possible is to have goals, have dreams and proactively work towards making those goals and dreams a reality. Yes, there will be times when you will be swayed away by other people’s opinions of how you should run your business but come back to yourself, remind yourself of your goal and reverse engineer everything you need to do to make those dreams come true.

How does creativity help you?

When you are proactive in your approach and you reverse engineer some steps you need to take to accomplish your goals, you need to get creative about those steps. And when you are creatively thinking about what steps would help you achieve your goals, you imagine yourself implementing those steps and when you visualize yourself in a certain place at a certain time, creative juices flow in your system and you get the energy needed to ACT on those steps.

For example, you have a business idea, a dream. You want to set up an oxygen plant. That’s your goal. The first thing you will do is find out if there is a demand for that oxygen. And you wouldn’t just depend on your internet research. You will pick up the phone and call people who work in relevant industries and see what their opinions are. You will also pick up the phone and talk to prospective buyers and see if they have a requirement for oxygen that you plant can fulfill.

You are taking all these steps because your creativity guided you in that direction because you visualized what would be the process of setting up an oxygen plant.

Next, you will set a particular production goal to product oxygen. Suppose you talk to people and you decide that you will produce 10000 metric tons of oxygen per month. This is your goal. Now you will get creative about how to set up the plant, what would it look, what would be the process like, you will research where to get the machinery from, the cost of machinery, the investment required etc. Those steps that you are taking are an outcome of your creative process and that’s giving you a new energy to go about things.

Now you know how much money would be required. Next you will think creatively about investments, who will give you money, what does your business plan look like, would you ask the banks for funding, would you look for angel investors etc.

And while doing all of that you creative juices are flowing because you are going to CREATE an oxygen plant and make a contribution to society.

The purpose of creativity

Now your business idea, your dream could be completely different but creativity gives you the energy to go about making those dreams a reality. The purpose of creativity is to give your that oorja, that energy to create things, bring something new to life and when you are in this process of creation, sometimes you lose concept of time, sometimes you forget that there are people around you, you spend hours and hours bringing something new to life, that you are the creator of.

Creativity is supposed to be that driving force within you that makes you live a proactive life, without really worrying about the past or the future.

When you are creating something by yourself, it could be artwork, handmade items, etc, you are in the present moment completely and when you are in the present moment, when your creative juices are flowing, when you are in the process of creating, you detach yourself from the stresses, anxiety, depressions of life.

No matter what happens in the world, by engaging your energy in the creative process, you are indirectly contributing to the world something more valuable.

Creativity leads to manifestation

When things don’t work according to people’s expectations, people get disheartened, sad and depressed. This is the time when you need to get back to creating alternatives to what actually is not working.

By removing yourself from the attachment to outcome, when you come back to the creative process, when you think about how things need to be, you again bring yourself back from the past and the future into the present moment. And the present moment is when magic happens, miracles happen, manifestation happens.

Right when you are deep into creating something, you will get a call about an order, you will get a news about funding being approved, you will get notifications about sales happening.

Creativity and longevity

I don’t know if you will believe me when I say this or not but I attended a conference by an Australian Indian influencer and he said that if a life is not involved in creating, life is useless and God takes those people sooner than others.

I don’t know how much this is true or not but when I see a 100+ old couple talking about their love life secret and they say laughter, happiness, then it makes me think that they spent their life proactively creating laughter and happiness because by default life takes over and you cannot be happy all the time.

I myself believe that happiness and laughter can be created on purpose. For that if I have to see some comedy movies to feel better then I do that too.

Conclusion

All in all, life should be about creating something, no matter what it is, living in the present moment and spending our life creating something nice and valuable for others.
