Uncertainty and Unpredictability in an Entrepreneur’s Journey

An entrepreneur is subjected to way more uncertainty and unpredictability than any other professional. We don’t know most of the time, where the next money, the next project, the next review, the next client is going to come from.

Entrepreneurs are people who leave stable jobs, stable incomes and jump into starting a business, to solve a problem of the world. It comes at the expense of giving up comfort, security, stable income, and a predictable home environment.

The cost that an entrepreneur has to pay for living life at his/her own terms is managing multiple tasks at once, managing multiple people at once, managing multiple situations at once, which sometimes leads to anxiety, nervousness, lethargy, fear, anger, frustration inturn leading to depression.

Mental Health Day 2019

Yesterday was World Mental Health Day. Not that we should do it only once a year but we should be aware of what leads to these mental disorders and how we can ensure mental stability living day to day with unpredictabilities.

Root Cause Analysis

To do the same, we need to address the root cause of the problems instead of getting entangled in the web of emotions. If we observe ourselves as a third person, we know that we get thousands of thoughts in a minute, some are conscious but most are unconscious or subconscious. These thoughts, then lead to emotions / feelings, leading to actions and actions then lead to results.

In order for us to ensure, longevity in our entrepreneurship journey, we need to focus our attention on every thought that we think. The more we think a thought, the more power it gets and the more power a thought gets, the respective emotion is formed and emotions lead us to take actions, which finally give us the result or an outcome or a situation.

To control our outcome, we need to control our thoughts. For good outcomes, we need to choose good feeling thoughts. For bad outcomes, we need to choose bad feeling thoughts.

Managing Thoughts

In the video above I talk about how we need to seed the good thoughts so that we can relish the outcomes of those good thoughts, which are the fruits of the tree. Even though everyone would agree to this thought process, we tend to forget and we go back to the downward spiral of debilitating negative thoughts. The outcome of the negative thought is inability to take action, inability to market ourselves, getting stuck in analysis / paralysis, getting stuck in pursuit of perfection and not taking enough REVENUE GENERATING action.

Therefore to remind ourselves of these effect, we need to create a visual representation and remind ourselves every single moment that we have to consciously choose good thoughts to seed for a better tomorrow. What say ?
