Most of us struggle with a poor body image without even knowing about it.
We hesitate to get in front of people and we hesitate to talk to new people because we are not 100% sure about our looks or our bodies.
Its time we address it head-on and permanently eliminate the hindrance to our business growth.
#1 tool for improving body image is acceptance. There are some things about our body that we can change and there are some things we cannot. I was the darkest member in my family and while growing up, people commented a lot about my looks, mostly that i am dark skinned and I don’t look like either of my parents and jokes that i could be adopted.
But over a period of time, my accomplishments in job and career shined so heavily on my profile that the talks about looks subsided. Even I didn’t bother about looks so much because I started to consider myself very pretty.
#2 Change what you can – So while there are things I cannot change about my facial features and i considered myself pretty good looking, there were other areas that have always bothered me.
My weight has been a forever concern for me and I talk about it in this podcast. Even though it is a work in progress, I would like to do something about it, not because of anyone else (because I give a SH%$ about what people think but just for my own self desire, of how I should look.
